Everyone gets a seat.
A sool jib is a room where people sit down together. That only works if everyone can get in — through the door, and through this website. This page says what we have done, what we are still working on, and how to tell us when we have missed.
What we build to.
This site is built to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act and California's Unruh Civil Rights Act. Conformance is not a one-time exercise: every change to this site is tested before it goes live, and the whole site is re-tested on a regular schedule.
We do not use an accessibility overlay or widget from a third-party vendor. Those scripts sit on top of a site without fixing it. The work described below is in the code itself.
What we did.
Every link, button and form field can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, in a sensible order, with a focus outline you can actually see. A "Skip to content" link is the first thing you reach on every page.
Landmarks, one heading outline per page, labelled navigation and form fields, and text alternatives on every image that carries meaning. Decorative marks are hidden from assistive technology instead of being read aloud.
Text meets the 4.5:1 contrast ratio (3:1 for large type) against its background, and the layout holds at 200% zoom and at 320px wide without sideways scrolling.
This site has moving type and hover effects. If your device is set to reduce motion, they stop. You can also stop them yourself from the accessibility button.
Bottom-left of every page: bigger text, high contrast, stop motion, underlined links and readable spacing. Your choices are remembered on your own device and nothing is sent anywhere.
Automated testing with axe-core on every page at desktop and phone widths, in normal and high-contrast modes, plus a manual keyboard pass. Fixes ship before the page does.

Our menu is published as text on this site and can be read by a screen reader, enlarged, or read aloud to you by any member of our staff — just ask. Service animals are welcome. If you need a particular kind of table, help getting settled, or a quieter moment in a room that gets loud, tell us when you book or when you arrive and we will make it work.

Third-party services.
Reservations run through Resy, some events sell through Resy or Instagram, and our menu is also available as a PDF. We do not control how accessible those services are. If any of them stands between you and a table, call (213) 291-0888 during open hours and we will take your reservation, read you the menu, and handle the rest ourselves.
If something doesn't work.
If any page, feature or part of the room is hard to use, we want to hear it directly — not from a letter. Tell us what you were trying to do, what got in the way, and the browser or assistive technology you use if you know it. We respond within two business days.
